My Role: On-Air Talent, Audio Engineer, Archivist
Background:
WUOT 91.9 FM is a listener-supported radio stationed licensed to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. It is also a member of NPR and an affiliate of the Public Radio Exchange and American Public Media. The station primarily broadcasts classical and jazz music, as well as local and national news.
Execution:
In my tenure at WUOT, I cultivated a list of talented and exceptional individuals from the Knoxville area to interview on Changing Course, the station’s first ever original local program. These individuals would come on to the show, where I would interview them on the projects or events they were involved in.
One of the most notable episodes was interview Emily Deas, a Knoxville-native and student at the Belmont University studying probiotics and antibiotics in species of dolphins.
Hosted by Todd Steed, Changing Course broadcasts to over 4 million listeners in the East Tennessee area, as well as parts of Kentucky and North Carolina.
